I’m Salim S Noori Haqqani an-Naqshbandi from Al-Khor, Qatar. My native place is near Alathur, Palakkad (DT), Kerala, India. My profession is Assistant Planner in Oil & Gas field Maintenance Planning Department. I’m following Silsila Noorisha [Chisti & Qadiri] & Silsila Naqshbandi-Haqqani’s Mureedh (member). From the time of Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (R) to the time of Bayazid al-Bistami (R) it was called as-Siddiqiyya. From the time of Bayazid to the time of Sayyidina Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani it was called at-Tayfuriyya. From the time of Sayyidina 'Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawan to the time of Shah Naqshband it was called the Khwajaganiyya. From the time of Shah Naqshband through the time of Sayyidina Ubaidullah al-Ahrar and Sayyidina Ahmad Faruqi, it was called Naqshbandiyya. Naqshbandiyya means to "tie the Naqsh very well." The Naqsh is the perfect engraving of Allah's Name in the heart of the mureedh. From the time of Sayyidina Ahmad al-Faruqi to the time of Shaikh Khalid al-Baghdadi it was called Naqshbandi-Mujaddidiyya. From the time of Sayyidina Khalid al-Baghdadi until the time of Sayiddina Shaikh Ismail Shirwani it was called the Naqshbandiyya-Khalidiyya. About My Place: Alathur is a Taluk in Palakkad district. It is 24 km from the district headquarters, at the south west end of the district, on the way to Thrissur. Alathur taluk is predominantly rural with an agriculture-based economy. Festivals: The 'Vela' and 'Pooram' festivals of the different villages in the taluk is a great attraction among the local people. The prominent among them are 'Kavasseri Pooram', 'Pudiyankam-Kattusseri Vela' and 'Kunisseri Kummatti'. The 'Theruvath Palli Nercha' conducted every year at Chungamannam attracts a lot of people from the local places as well as from Tamil Nadu. People come in bullock carts all the way from Pollachi and other places to witness the event. The cattle race conducted at Chithali every year during Onam period is a unique event. There is stiff competition among the owners of the cattle to bring the best pair for the race. Tourist Seasons September to February STD Code 0491, 04922 Anjumoorthy MangalamIt’s my old place and located 48 km south of Palakkad town, Anjumoorthy Mangalam is mainly occupied by settlers from other parts of the State. Mangalam dam is located near the NH 47, about 14 km south of Vadakkencherry village. The dam is constructed across Cherukunnappuzha, a tributary of Mangalam river. It is located in picturesque surroundings. The reservoir fringes on the forest area where there are dears, wild elephants and a variety of birds. There are beautiful parks and lawns adorned with statues. TransportPalakkad is well connected by roads. National Highway 47 from Salem to Kanyakumari and the Palakkad-Kozhikode State Highway 213 pass through the district. Another important road is the Palakkad-Ponnani which connects NH 47 and NH 17. Palakkad is a railway junction on India's Southern railway. Coimbatore is the nearest major station. The cities of Pollachi, Dindigul and Madurai are connected by the meter gauge line starting from here. Trains on this line bring vegetables, fish and dairy products from other cities. The nearest airport is at Coimbatore, 52 km from Palakkad. The nearest international airport is the Cochin (Kochi) International airport, 120 km from Palakkad.
